I’ve been spending long periods of time editing this website which is resulting in probably the most common condition I treat – COMPUTERITIS! Well maybe that isn’t the medically accepted term but it sure describes the cause/effect relationship. I can feel tightness in my neck, shoulders and upper back. Thank God I’m a chiropractor and know a great stretch to combat my tightness! I will, however, need to visit my good friend Dr. Romanelli (also a chiro) for a few adjustments to my spine. Anyways here is the stretch that anyone who sits at a computer for long periods of time should do:
Pull the head diagonally towards the left knee and gently apply a downward force with the left hand on the head. You should feel a gentle stretch in the back of the right neck/shoulder. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on the other side. Ahhhh – much better!
